How do I become a member and what does it cost?
Membership is free for people living and working in the City of Matlosana.

Adults
You may apply for membership for yourself as well as for your children.

Visitors
Persons living outside the City of Matlosana pay a membership fee of R100.00 per person per year.

Membership Application Requirements:

1. Adults:
1.1 Identity Document

2.Children:
2.1. Birth Certificate or Identity Document of the child
2.2 Parent's Identity Document
2.3 Account or Mail that was delivered at your postal address as proof thereof.
2.4 Name; Address and Telephone Number of a friend or family member.

What are members benefits?
As a registered member of the library, you are entitled to take out 4 books for a maximum period of 14 days.
The due date is stamped on the date sheet in the front of the book.
The loan period may be extended once by telephone for another 14 days.
Items not returned within this period will render borrowers liable to a fine of R1.00 per item per week or part of the week.

Books may be deposited after hours in the BOOKS RETURN slot next to the main entrance.
Borrowers are responsible for all library items issued to them and the cost of replacing damaged or lost items will be recovered from them.

All books, records, CD's and magazines must be checked out at the circulation desk before they may be removed from the library. Membership of the record and CD library is subject to a membership fee of R20.00 per annum.

What About Computerization?

Capturing of data is almost complete and in 2010 Klerksdorp,
Orkney and Stilfontein libraries will be using the Unicorn Library system for circulation and enquiries.
